This is a painting of Shahid Ustad Abdul Ali Mazari (1946 – March 1995). He is most commonly known as Baba Mazari.

For decades, Hazaras have been the targets of mass scale ethnic and religious persecution. Baba Mazari fought and made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure the existence and rights of his fellow Hazaras. He wanted the people of Hazara to be an equal partner in the government and its decision making process. He hoped to see an Afghanistan where everyone is equal, regardless of their ethnicity and religion.
