About: Mukhtar Amiry is an Afghan artist living in Toronto, Canada. Born in 1994, Amiry graduated from Mohammad Alam Faiz-zad High School in Kabul and continued his studies at Lawrence Academy of Massachusetts, United States. He attended the art center of Ghulam Mohammad Maimanagi and studied Realism style art for three years. His canvases and artwork have been exhibited at numerous exhibitions in the United States and Europe.

During some of his exhibitions in the United States, Mukhtar Amiry observed the negative thoughts and attitudes toward Afghanistan and was inspired to paint pictures of the beauty of Afghanistan, especially Afghan women. He wants to send a message to the world that Afghanistan and Afghans are a symbol of beauty and strength.
