About: I am an Afghan-Canadian artist who is constantly exploring topics such as love, feminism and cultural identity through my art. Van Gogh once said, “Art is to console those who are broken by life”. For me, I always looked at painting as a form of therapy rather than a hobby. Sometimes, our emotions become so overpowering, that it needs to be released through visual expression. The use of colours, shapes and forms can tell a thousand stories that words could never say. I want people to see what I see. I want them to feel what I feel. The art is me and I am the art.
